Snowman Candle Holders

November 27, 2012 By Shannah 26 Comments

Frosty the Snowman was a jolly, happy soul…Well, as jolly and happy as one can be when someone puts your eyes and nose in the oven! πŸ™‚

Let me back up though. I love snowman. They are my absolute favorite winter creature {yep, even more than Santa!}. So, I started thinking about ways to incorporate more snowmen into our holiday dΓ©cor without spending a lot of cash.

While at the craft store, I grabbed some glass vases, snow medium, glitter and clay. I painted on the snow medium with a brush.

Then, while it was wet, I sprinkled the glitter all over it {do this over a plate because it is messy!}.

I let it dry for several hours to harden. While it was drying, I formed some eyes, mouths and noses out of my clay.

I put them on a baking sheet and baked them at 275 degrees for about 30 minutes.

Once they were cool and my snow was hardened, I glued the eyes, nose and mouth onto the glass vases.

Then, I hot glued some red felt at the bottom of the vase to mimic a scarf.

In goes a candle for a fun snowman candle holder.

I love these! I have never even heard of snow medium before, but now I think I’ll have to get some. πŸ™‚ Does the light from the candle come out through the vases at all or is it just “glowy?”
