A New Kind of Shoe!

December 8, 2011 By Shannah 1 Comment

Ok, last week, I shared with you my massive sweater addiction.  This week, I am opening the door to my closet a little wider so you can see another part of the growing population in it: shoes.  Yes, I suffer, just as so many women do from a shoe addiction.

[Taste of Nowhere]

Yeah, if only mine were that organized!
Just like my sweater “problem”, I like my shoes in almost every variety…sneakers, boots, heels, sandals, wedges, etc.  I am pretty sure it is hereditary so thanks mom.
My newest obsession:  handmade shoes!
I’m no spring chicken anymore and I spend a lot of time running around between work, daycare and errands.  That means A LOT of wear of tear on my shoes.  Handmade shoes tend to be of a higher quality with better construction and attention to detail (at least in my experience).  Sure, they might cost me a bit more upfront but they last a whole lot longer too.  I haven’t gone as far as to have any custom made yet but I’ve heard that those are to die for!
Now, I know what you are probably thinking…no, all homemade shoes do not look like this

In fact, you can find super stylish homemade shoes in pretty much any style you are looking for.  I am particularly partial to the kids’ shoes.

[Think Sew]

Now, if only I could find the time to learn to how to make my own, I could feed my shoe addiction even more.  Although, we might need a second home if I get any more shoes.
I’m sure whipping up some shoes is no issue for the super crafty among us, right?!  Think of how good your feet would feel.
So, love homemade shoes?  Make your own shoes?  Don’t wear shoes regularly?  Give me the deets about your feet!

I am participating in a blogger campaign by Bucks2Blog for handmade shoes and was compensated.  However, the views, opinions and very real shoe addiction are all my own.
