Monk Fruit…Meet Yogurt!

August 2, 2012 By Shannah Leave a Comment

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Nectresse™ Sweetener for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Artificial sweetener, sugar and sugar alternatives are all over the place these days!  It can be really difficult to keep track of what is good and what is bad on any give day.  Sugar and all its relatives now know a little bit about what it means to be an egg!

I recently had the opportunity to try NECTRESSE™Sweetener
Nectresse product family.jpg

NECTRESSE™Sweetener is an all natural sweetener made from Monk fruit extract.  It has zero calories just like some of the artificial alternatives but is all natural so much better for you!  It is about 150 times sweeter than regular sugar so you use a lot less of it too.  Throw it in coffee or use it as a sugar replacement when baking and cooking.  It is that versatile.
Oh, and another perk, you can get it in little packets which make it easy to take out on the go.  Or, if you want to use it in cooking, your local store probably also carries it in a canister too.

With my sample, I decided to try and make a few changes to our yogurt routine.  We eat a lot of yogurt in the house.  I prefer to get plain and sweeten it myself because the preflavored stuff can be so full of sugar and almost too sweet.
My ingredients:
1 small container of plain, Greek yogurt (0% fat!)
2 packets of NECTRESSE™Sweetener
Some berries – I chose blueberries, strawberries and raspberries for this time around
A handful of granola

I mixed the yogurt with the packets of NECTRESSE™Sweetener.  Then, I topped with the berries.

I added that to some granola and had a hearty breakfast that was low in calories and sugar!

The verdict: delicious!  It really turned out well and no one who taste tested for me could tell that it wasn’t sugar in there!  Plus, there was no aftertaste like some people taste with artificial sweeteners.

Ok, so I know that yogurt parfait is making you hungry!  So, I’m going to tell you something awesome: you can get your own FREE sample of NECTRESSE™Sweetener so you can recreate this at home!  When you do, please come back and tell me what you thought!

Oh, and if you want another opinion on NECTRESSE™Sweetener, check out what American journalist Lisa Ling has to say
