Melt the Rainbow

April 9, 2012 By Shannah 22 Comments

I am working on adding some “art” to the kids’ playroom. Of course, the first thing I thought of was the crayon art I’ve seen all over the interwebs.
I debated how I wanted to arrange the crayons for awhile and just kept putting the project off. Finally, I decided it was time to just go for it.

I grabbed a blank artist canvas that I had lying around and glued the crayons to it.

I glued them on in no particular order and just tried to make sure that no two really similar colors were next to each other.

Ok, we are ready to melt right?!  I’ve read a few different suggestions on the best way to actually go about melting the crayons.  I just used my hair dryer.

A melting we will go…

Hi! Jumped over from CrayonFreckles. My son’s preschool class did this for their Art Show and it was such a big hit! This is on my list of crafts I’d like to do with my kids!

Your crayon art turned out so well! Good tip to use the hairdyer too, I always thought I’d need to purchase a heat gun to get that amount of heat.

Thanks for linking up with Tip-toe thru Tuesday with tiarasandbowties.blogspot.com and crayonfreckles.com!

This is very cute! It’s nice to see someone who actually did the project successfully. ;o) all the tries I’ve seen so far (except for yours) have been hysterical flops. LOL
