Labeling the Kitchen

April 10, 2012 By Shannah 10 Comments

This project was inspired by the pantry re-do over at House of Smiths!

***********************************************
I am really big into organization.  I find that staying organized really helps our household work and stay on track.  With labels on things in our kitchen, it makes it also makes it easier for my kids to find what they want or put things in the right place.
I started small with my labeling project and grabbed my salt crock.
I used adhesive stencils from Martha Stewart and some leftover acrylic paint that I had around the house.
Once I was comfortable with using the stencils and paint, I moved on to other items that didn’t have a specific stencil for the item like my salt one did.
I also had my daughter, H, help me free hand one of the words for fun.
Do any of you label things in house to help the kids (or your other half) find things/know where to put things?

Shana, I love the idea of labeling items around the house! I’ve wanted to do this for quite a while in mine because no one seems to know where to put anything!

Thanks for linking to Tip toe thru Tuesday!

That is an awesome idea!! Its way cuter then putting a white sticker label on it or just writing with a sharpie! I will be doing this when I have my own kitchen again! Thanks for sharing at Thursdays’ Temptation.

I really think these look great! I’m the worst stenciler in the world, but I like the idea of trying some storage containers. Thanks for sharing this with us!

So cute. One question: How does the paint stay on? Thanks so much for sharing this creative organizing tip at The Mother Lode linky party over at I Gotta Create!
