Flashback: Frozen Yogurt Bites

April 15, 2013 By Shannah 7 Comments

With spring {finally} here, I’ve been planning to make these frozen yogurt bites and store them in the freezer for a fun snack for the kids.  Ever since we discovered them last year, they are a favorite in our house.

I’ve been kind of busy around here so I haven’t spent quite as much time on Pinterest as I usually do. One thing caught my eye recently though…you might have seen it:

My little ones L-O-V-E yogurt so I thought this would be a fantastic summer treat for them that was also fairly healthy. So, I thought it would be a perfect candidate for a Pinterest projects feature.

I grabbed a cup of yogurt that I had at the house to get started.

I dumped it into a plastic bag.

I also covered my cookie sheet with some plastic coated freezer paper. I probably would have used parchment paper but I didn’t have any and I figured the freezer paper would work just as well.

I cut the tip off of my plastic bag and just made little circles of yogurt on my cookie sheet. I wasn’t really particular about the shape or anything.

Then, I put them into the freezer for awhile. After about 30-45 minutes, I pulled them out and checked to see if they were frozen.

The kids loved them! My only issue is that they start to melt pretty quickly so could definitely get messy fast. Otherwise, I would definitely call this experiment a success and I think you will find these little frozen bites in our freezer for awhile!

*****************************************

Update:  We made these at least once a week during the warm months last year.  I can’t wait to make our first batch of frozen yogurt bites this year.  It is a great symbol for the beginning of spring/summer.  I even made them with coffee yogurt for myself one time!

Thanks for this! My son hates yogurt (me too!) but my daughter loves it. So, I’ll try to make these for her and maybe sneak 1 or 2 to him. 🙂

Oh, now that’s a neat idea! My kids love it when I put the Gogurts in the freezer; they’d love these! Great way to use yogurt that’s about to expire too. Thanks so much for linking up to Inspire Me Wednesday!
