Fancy Up Your Candles

May 14, 2012 By Shannah 18 Comments

For Teacher Appreciation week, I had to come up with some creative ideas for E’s teachers because we aren’t allowed to take outside food into the school.

One day, we decorated small candles for E to give to his teachers.  (poor little E was sick for a lot of the week so he didn’t end up getting to help with this project)

Check out some of our supplies

We used washi tape, fabric tape and paint to decorate the different candles (total of 4).

H was helping me so she got to choose how each one was decorated.

Once she got tired of the washi tape, we moved on and decided to stencil the last candle which would be given to E’s core teacher.

We used the Martha Steweart adhesive stencils which made it really easy even on the curved surface.

Very cute! So, my question is, how did the tape stick to the candles? Pretty well? I would be worried because of the waxy texture. THanks for sharing at Handmade Tuesdays.

How pretty! I’ve started a washi tape obsession myself so I’ve been looking for ideas to decorate with it. I love the candle idea. I would love it if you would consider sharing this idea with some of my readers. I’m sharing a linky party with another blogger so it would be linked up on 2 blogs. Here is the link.
