World’s Best Queso Dip Recipe

December 18, 2013 By Shannah Coe 31 Comments

Are you hosting a holiday party this year?  Or maybe you are attending a pot luck style party and you are wondering what to take.  I have the world’s best queso dip recipe {trust me…that is not an exaggeration} that will absolutely be a huge hit anywhere you serve it.

Queso Dip Top View with Label_wm

No, I am not exaggerating. This is the world's best queso dip!

This is a variation of the queso dip my mom makes and it is always super popular wherever we take it.  Put it together and keep it warm in the crockpot or you can carry it somewhere and just warm it back up in the microwave.

What You’ll Need:
1 lb ground Italian sausage
1 1/2 cups salsa
1 15oz jar of queso cheese dip
1 can of Chili Magic chili beans
3 Tbsp chopped onion

Let’s Make It:
1)  Brown your Italian sausage, crumbling with a spoon during cooking.Italian Sausage in Pan_wm2)  Drain the sausage and set aside.

3)  In the same pot, combine the salsa, cheese dip and beans.  Stir well to combine.Queso Ingredients in Pan_wmAdd crumbled Italian sausage and stir.  Heat over low heat until bubbly.  Top with chopped onion and serve warm with tortilla chips.  I usually choose blue tortilla chips or the scoops because they hold up to the chunky dip better than the restaurant style ones.  I have seen some little scoop shaped veggie tortilla chips at Costco that I may try with this dip this year.Queso Dip on Plate_wmQueso Dip Top View_wmQueso Dip with Chips_wmI take this dip to pretty much any party we attend during the fall and winter because I know it will disappear.  The crockpot version is my absolute favorite because it is pretty much hands off.   Simply put the cooked sausage and remaining ingredients in the crockpot and set it to the warm setting.  Super easy but a guaranteed party favorite.

What is your favorite party food?  Do you have one or two recipes that you make all the time because you know people will love them?
