Happy Wednesday! Are you enjoying your week so far? I hope so!

How about I make it a little better and give you some delicious food to look at?

2.27 1-4

Sunday:  My love for soup is pretty much a given by now so it is no surprise to see at least one soup each week, right?  This week, it is chicken pozole.

Monday:  Meatless Monday again..what to make?  How about cauliflower “steaks”?

Tuesday:  I’ll have to tweak this recipe a little for Mathlete’s plate but balsamic chicken with mushrooms just looked too good to pass up due to his distate for mushrooms.

Wednesday:  Forget take-out!  Let’s make Chinese fried rice at home! I’m sure it will be just as delicious and much better for us!

2.27 5-7

Thursday:  Chicken cordon bleu is always super delicious but a real pain to actually make {especially on a weeknight}!  So, this chicken cordon bleu pasta seems like an awesome superstitution.

Friday:  I love curry.  Seriously, I could eat just about anything curried.  I’m going to give something totally new a try this week too with Thai red curry sausage stroganoff.

Saturday:  I don’t make meatloaf very often.  It makes a lot and tends to take a little bit more time that I usually have. I’m going to splurge {time wise} and make this pizza meatloaf though this week.

Do you love food?  Do you share recipes on your blog frequently?  If you answered yes to one {or both} of those questions, then you are the PERFECT guest poster for a WTCW post!  Interested?  Send me an email and I will hook you up with all the details!

Now, let’s take a look at look at what’s for dinner next week.

Sunday:  Sundays are days made for cooking! Lounge around the house while a delicious meal, like lightened up Sheperd’s Pie, comes together for your enjoyment.

Monday:  I am really working on getting back into a meatless Monday routine.  I think squash and sweet potato chili is a good recipe to help with that goal.

Tuesday:  I think I am going to rename Tuesday to Crockpot Day.  I seem to use my crockpot the most that day anyways.  This week, I am eyeing slow cooker picadillo.

Wednesday:  I could eat goat cheese on just about anything.  Strangely though, I have never thought to put it on stuffed peppers…until now!  I am going to make stuffed peppers with goat cheese.

{Guest Post} WTCW from Kreative Creationz

February 6, 2013 By Shannah 2 Comments

Happy Wednesday!

Each month, I have 1-2 guest bloggers come in and share their meal ideas for What to Cook Wednesday!  Today, Kendra from Kreative Creationz is here!
******************************************************

Hello, everybody! I’m Kendra and I blog at Kreative Creationz. I love blogging about creative beauty, cooking, crafting, and everyday life. Shannah has given me the opportunity to share seven meals that I will be cooking for dinner for my family this week. Please, enjoy!

{The First Year Blog} {Your Home Based Mom} {I Gotta Try That} {Half Baked Harvest}

Sunday: Gardener’s pie is loaded with veggies and potatoes and it is a great way to fill up a family for a Sunday evening dinner. Absolutely delicious!

Monday: I love cooking simple meals at the beginning of the week. This green bean and rice casserole is perfect!

Tuesday: This week we are having crockpot Mexican beef. Crockpot recipes are the greatest because I won’t have to spend all day in the kitchen and I end up with a great meal for the family.

Wednesday: Lately, I’ve been trying to eat a little healthier. An Asian veggie noodle bowl with grilled steak will help keep me on track to my weight loss goals.

{The Pin Junkie}{My Turn For Us} {Kreative Creationz}

Thursday: Oven-blackened turkey breast is a great go-to meal for getting ready to wind down the end of the week.

Friday: Cold Colorado winters always have me wanting a hot bowl of soup. Southwest chicken soup is a great way to end the work week and to stay warm.

Saturday: After having a busy week, potato skins will be our Saturday meal. Easy to make and tasty to eat.

**********************************************************
Thanks, Kendra! Love all your selections.

January 30, 2013 By Shannah Leave a Comment

Can you believe January is almost over?  I am shocked at how fast the month has flown by.  I guess it is all the fun I have been having 🙂

I’m excited to share some new recipes with you as part of What to Cook Wednesday!

Sunday:  Lasagna is one of those dishes that is so versatile.  Rosemary chicken lasagna is such a great new twist on a classic dish.

Monday:  I love pasta.  It is a total weakness of mine.  Avocado alfredo pasta with spicy shrimp definitely sounds like a perfect way to get my pasta fix.

Tuesday:  On weeknights, sometimes sandwiches and wraps are the easiest way to get dinner on the table.  Cashew chicken salad wraps are a great way to have a tasty meal quickly.

SURPRISE!  I bet you didn’t expect to wake up and find a whole new blog design, did you?  We’re still working on a few of the little things so let’s consider this sort of a “soft reveal”.  The big celebration will come when it is all completed and ready for prime time.  Pardon the dust until then 🙂  {Oh, and a HUGE thank you to Monica from Designer Blogs for all the work she has put in!  If you need a new blog design, I highly recommend her!}

*************************************************************

Wednesdays are always fun for me!  I love doing this feature and it really helps me stay on track with my own weekly menu planning for our household.

Do you do a weekly menu plan?  Do you try out recipes featured here?  I’d love to hear all about it!

Sunday:  The colder weather has me craving lots of comfort food.  Pot au feu offers an easy cooking lesson with the reward of a hearty winter meal.

Monday:  Soups are another food I turn to frequently during the winter.  They are filling and {generally} offer a lot of nutrition for little calories.  This winter minestrone was added to my list the moment I saw it.

Tuesday:  Did you eat your black eyed peas on New Year’s Day?  If not, we’ve got you covered this week with black eyed pea and sausage stew.

Wednesday:  Nothing says comfort like a grilled cheese.  Throw in some caramelized onions and bbq pork and you’ve upgraded a basic sandwich to a delight!

Each month, I am opening WTCW posts up to guest bloggers.  Interested?  Email me at justusfourpartners {at} gmail {dot} com and I’ll send you all the info you need!

Now, how about we talk food?

Sunday:  I haven’t done much cooking with lamb but I love the sound of lamb and potato enchilada casserole.

Monday:  Let’s go meatless with super kid friendly chili bean tacos.

Tuesday:
Baked potatoes have become great blank slates for lots of different kind of meals.  Cheeseburger stuffed baked potatoes eliminate the need to make a side of fries!

Hello Everybody! I’m Katie from Snap-on Buttons and I am so excited to be here today to share my recipes for the week on What To Cook Wednesday!

Sunday: Chicken and Dumplings. I love a hearty meal before starting a new week, this meal is sure to warm you up on the coldest of days!

Monday: Udon Stir Fry. I love how versatile this dish can be. The recipe can easily be modified for chicken, fish, or vegetarian!

Tuesday: Almond Pesto Pasta. I love pesto, especially when tomatoes and artichoke hearts are added to the mix. This dish is lighter than an ordinary pasta dish, which is great so I don’t feel so guilty after eating seconds!

Wednesday: Root Vegetable Soup. This soup is surprisingly easy to make and delicious! I was surprised by how delicious it was. Light and filling, it is perfect for a mid-week meal!

Thursdays: Slow Cooker Carnitas. These look delicious, and I love a meal I can start before I leave for work in the morning!

Fridays: Cheese Lasagna. This dish has become a staple in my household, something we can all agree on! You can’t go wrong with lots of cheese!

Saturday: Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup. This version is quick and easy. I love chicken noodle soup despite the weather!

Thanks so much for letting me share my week of meals with you. I’d love if you would stop by Snap-on Buttons to see what I’m creating, loving, and laughing about!

Hey everyone! It is another exciting week where one of you great readers gets to share your ideas for What to Cook Wednesday.  Today, Helen is here to share some delicious ideas.
*******************************
Hello everyone!  I’m Helen from Random Bits and I’m thrilled to be bringing you some tasty after-holiday dishes this week.

Sunday- This Spicy Penne with Turkey is a very tasty dish to use up some of that leftover turkey.  My husband loves to make this dish and looks forward to it every winter.  If you don’t like spicy dishes, either leave the chipotle chilies out, or cut way back on them.

Monday- After all the holiday food, we’re going to be ready for something totally different.  This Baked Pizza Pasta fits the bill.  And it’s a crock pot dish, so not a lot of effort for a hearty, yummy dinner.

Tuesday– I love a good soup in the winter and this Minestronehas been called the best soup I’ve ever made.

Wednesday– BBQ Chicken Quinoa Salad is a nice change of pace for the middle of the week.

Thursday– For some reason, as the end of the week approaches, I feel more and more rushed and more and more tired.  Crab Stuffed Avocados are perfect for those nights you want to put a nice dinner in front of your family, but you’re rushed for time.

Friday– These Chicken Pesto Pockets are a quick dinner for a busy Friday night.  Served with some veggies and dip or a salad, you’ve got a fast, filling meal.

Saturday– Saturdays are busy days around our house.  Vegetarian Shepherd’s Pie, another crock pot meal helps us get our errands run, but still have a hot, tasty meal with minimal cooking time.

I hope this gives you some great ideas for your week.  And please come visit at Random Bits to see what other great recipes I’m trying out and creating.  I love finding new recipes, especially for the crock pot, and working them into great menus for my family.
*********************************************
Thanks, Helen! I love the choices you made.  Those chicken pesto pockets look especially delicious.

Let’s get cooking this week!

[Cookin and Kickin], [That’s Some Good Cookin], [Home Sick Texan]

Sunday:  Nothing says fall like chili.  Harvest chili adds in some vegetables to make it super healthy.

Monday:  Pasta with a different type of pesto this week: red pepper pesto!

Tuesday:  I love sandwiches for dinner! Green chile cheese steak sandwiches sound amazing.

[Mirien’s Cooking], [Skinny Taste], [The Girl Who Ate Everything], [Peas and Crayons]

Wednesday:  Spinach and zucchini soup makes a fabulous option for my soup of the week.

Thursday:  How about a different type of sauce for your pasta?  Spaghetti with creamy butternut squash leek sauce definitely adds a fall feel to regular spaghetti.

Friday:  Tex Mex makes a reappearance in our menu this week with baked chicken chimichangas.

Saturday:  Don’t these cauliflower stuffed twice baked potatoes look delicious?  They are pretty healthy too!
