Grilled Sticky Chicken

June 30, 2014 By Shannah Coe 7 Comments

Grilled Sticky Chicken is the perfect dish for your #BackyardBash! This sticky chicken recipe is simple to make but packed full of flavor! Grilled Sticky Chicken is made up of a marinade of brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and soda! Everyone will be wanting seconds and maybe even thirds!!

Grilling season is here! From burgers to fruit, we are all about using our grill as much as possible during the nice weather! On top of grilling pretty much all of our meals, we also use the warm weather and beautiful evenings to get together with friends on the deck.

Chicken is one of my favorite things to cook on the grill and, recently, I decided to add one of our #BackyardBash drinks into the marinade for some grilled sticky chicken.

Enjoy delicious chicken with a simple but amazing marinade this summer! #BackyardBash #shop #cbias

Sticky chicken is a delicious combination of soda, brown sugar, soy sauce and a few other ingredients. You marinate the chicken while you prepare everything else. Then, you baste it with the marinade while it cooks. The result is amazingly delicious chicken that is perfect for a backyard BBQ.

Grilled Sticky Chicken Ingredients:

16oz Dr Pepper
1/4 cup avocado oil
1/3 cup soy sauce or tamari
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp crushed red pepper
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tbsp dried minced onion
4-6 boneless, skinless chicken breast

Let’s Make It:

1) Mix all ingredients except chicken together in a large bowl. Whisk to combine. Reserve 1/3 cup of marinade. Add chicken to marinade remaining in the bowl and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

2) Heat grill to medium heat. Grill chicken for 10-12 minutes. Baste chicken with reserved marinade.

3) Turn over and grill for another 7-10 minutes, basting with reserved marinade occasionally, or until done. Remove from grill.

Cooking chicken on the grill is so delicious, especially when you baste it while cooking.

Living in Florida with hot weather year round, I’m always looking for new grilling recipes. This likes a perfect light dinner option and I won’t have to heat up the house.
