A Glimpse: On Being Well

Walgreens Disclosure

I’m going to confess something: I’ve got cute kids.  There I said it.  You know what else I have?  Germs…from those cute kids.  Yep, kids are full of germs that they pick up from just about anywhere and everywhere.  With our youngest getting the worst of it every time thanks to his daily medicines causing his immune system to be a little weaker than most kids, we really focus on staying well around here.  How do we stay healthy?  I’m going to share with you a few of my tips on being well.

1)  The first one is easy: drink more water.  Liquids are so important in keeping our bodies in good working order and the absolute very best liquid for you is water.  You can add some delicious natural flavors to the water of course but still make sure most of your liquid intake is water.

2)  Get plenty of rest.  So many of us {myself included} just don’t get enough of sleep.  There is always one more thing we try to squeeze into a day.  I know I spend a ton of time reading the #CollectiveBias forums when I should be sleeping. While I may not get as much sleep as I can, I always try to make sure both of my kids get to bed on time and get plenty of sleep to keep their immune systems ready to fight.

 3)  Take recommended vitamins on a daily basis.  It is easy to be #WellatWalgreens with their wide variety of vitamins, supplements and probiotics.  You can tell H loves the gummy children’s vitamins and I like the gummy version they offer for adults too.

#shop Walgreens In Store Photos_wmThrough the month of March, all Well at Walgreens products are buy one, get on 50% off to which makes it a great time to stock up since winter is clearly sticking around a little longer in most places.  Plus, you can feel even  better about your purchase because of the Walgreens Way to Well Commitment where Walgreens donates $.01 from every purchase of their Health and Wellness products to provide preventative services to local communities.

4)  Eat a healthy breakfast each and every morning.  Donuts may look good but they provide almost not nutritional value which means your body doesn’t have much to help it get started for the day.  Think vegetables, protein and dairy for the best start to your day.

5)  Wash your hands.  I know this one is repeated so often but it is really so important to remember.  Our hands come in contact with so many things that are covered in germs that it is really important to remember to keep them as clean as possible to keep us well.

How do you stay healthy when you seem to be bombarded with germs all the time?  Do you prefer a regular or gummy vitamin?

Love all the tips you gave here. My kids also love taking gummy vitamins, as they’re easy to take and taste good. Thanks for sharing this.
