Watermelon Mint Infused Water and Support for Others

July 8, 2016 By Shannah Coe 9 Comments

This post was sponsored by Nature Valley as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central.

Let’s take a small break from all the food and talk about inspiration a little. Inspiration comes from so many sources. There is the inspiration to create or cook and then there is the inspiration that comes from the positive influence of a loved one. Often, we take the time out to inspire those close to us during the BIG moments in life. But, I think what is most important is finding the time to send love and encouragement even during the everyday challenges life throws us. Maybe invite a friend {or friends} over for a glass of watermelon mint infused water and then use that opportunity to remind them how wonderful they are.

Best Ways to Survive Winter

November 24, 2015 By Shannah Coe Leave a Comment

I am thrilled to partner with DASANI to help you stay hydrated during the cold winter months. While this post is sponsored, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This weekend we had out first taste of the super cold winter weather. With brisk winds and temperatures below freezing, I was quickly reminded that the cold weather is just beginning and soon we will most likely see snow. In fact, some places are already getting LOTS of snow. Winter is pretty harsh weatherwise but it is also tough on our bodies and so I wanted to share some of the best ways to survive winter with you while it is still early in the season.

4 Easy Ways to Relieve Stress

March 11, 2015 By Shannah Coe 5 Comments

Let’s talk stress. As a mom of two gorgeous kids who also works 2 jobs {full time “real” job plus this blog}, I am definitely no stranger to stress. When deadlines start to pile up plus the demands of being a mom grow more and more, I find that I need have a few easy ways to relieve stress that I can turn to on a regular basis. Since I know we all get stressed from time to time {all the time?}, I thought I would share my top 4 ways to relieve stress.

The Laughing Cow® in New York

August 13, 2014 By Shannah Coe 12 Comments

Compensation was provided by Bel Laughing Cow via Mode Media. The opinions expressed herein are those of the author and are not indicative of the opinions or positions of Bel Laughing Cow.

I am a total snacker! If I could just snack all day long and not eat full meals, I would be one happy camper. Yesterday, I got the opportunity to combine my love of snacking with a visit to my all time favorite place {well, besides my home}…New York City! The Laughing Cow® was taking over part of Times Square in New York and that was one event I did not want to miss.

All the Little Things

May 21, 2014 By Shannah Coe 1 Comment

I’m going to go ahead and warn you that there is kinds of randomness ahead…consider this post mostly a brain dump of what is going on in my head right now 🙂

–  You know when you meet someone online and they are totally awesome.  Then, you get the chance to meet that person IN PERSON and you get all kinds of nervous?  Yeah, that was totally me last week as I prepped for my trip to BlogHer Food where my roommate was none other than my good online friend, Allyson.  Truth: she is even more awesome in person! So glad to know her and now be able to call her a friend versus just an online friend.

– Going right along with that, I had some major anxiety over BlogHer Food.  It is way bigger than any conference I have ever attended and I just didn’t know how I would fit in. It was definitely a great trip and I enjoyed connecting with brands and few bloggers but was in no way the same as Snap!  Snap feels like a big party where almost everyone is eager to meet new people and learn.  BlogHer Food felt a little more like high school where everyone had their cliques formed and weren’t necessarily eager to break out of them.  Yes, I met some fabulous people including a wonderful mom/daughter blogging team, but there just weren’t the same warm and fuzzies everywhere you went.

– I am so frustrated with myself and the way I continue to eat so terribly.  This week, I have started really focusing on eating cleaner and not falling temptation to all the sweets and unhealthy food that comes my way.  One thing that is definitely helping me is that the weather is finally making using our grill way easier! Wish me luck 🙂

– This weekend is Memorial Day weekend. Can you believe it?  I am wondering where the first part of this year disappeared to. Soon school will be out and I will have two kids who need a whole lot of entertaining on my hands.  On the plus side, long weekend…woot!

– I started playing Words with Friends again.  And, of course, I started getting my butt beat. Maybe that was the reason I stopped and not the lack of notifications that it was my turn to play.

– This will be H’s first year where she goes to camp.  It isn’t sleep away camp or anything but it still has me nervous.  Plus, she has to take so much stuff with her each day and, of course, it all has to be labeled which I am so not used to.  Thinking of trying out the camp combo of premade labels.  Anyone have any experience with those labels?

– Last night we went to see my daughter’s first grade music concert.  Talk about the cutest things you ever saw.  The theme was back at the barnyard so there were lots of cowboy hats and braided pigtails all around.  The kids did a great job and looked like they were having so much fun.  If I can figure it out {i.e. get Mathlete to do it for me}, I’ll get a few of the short little videos online so you can see all the cuteness.

– I have to stay out of the mall.  I don’t end up spending a ton of money on myself but the kid’s clothes at Gymboree {especially the red, white and blue stuff}, Nordstrom and Gap are killing me.  In the online world, Tea Collection also has a bunch of stuff that is super cute. I’m going to have to try very hard to avoid their Memorial Day sale…especially with dresses starting at $15!

– Oh and I am so excited that I managed to get in on the pre-order for tickets to see Disney on Ice – Frozen.  H is going to be beyond excited when I tell her.  Of course, it isn’t until October so I’ll be keeping that secret a little longer so I don’t have to hear “when are we going” from now until then.  The Frozen merchandise search starts now though because I am sure she will want to wear a dress to the show.

– If you love Starbucks, visit me on Facebook today to enter the flash giveaway.  And I do mean flash…it ends tomorrow morning at 9am {EST}.  A bunch of my blog friends are doing it too so you can get in on a fun round robin and maybe win a lot of other great prizes too.

Yep…think that is all for today. Happy randomness Wednesday.

How to Use Affiliate Marketing

May 15, 2014 By Shannah Coe 8 Comments

Today’s first post is all about how to use affiliate marketing on your blog.  I took a class on affiliate marketing while at Snap! Conference and I feel like I learned so much that I need to put into practice.  Of course, I didn’t write this post since I haven’t really been all that great with my affiliate marketing techniques.  Thankfully, I was able to reach out to someone who was far more knowledgeable than I am!

Hi there! So glad to be a part of Just us Four’s “How to Blog” series. Thanks for having me. 😉 Everything I have learned about blogging is from other bloggers, searching the web, and personal experience. I am grateful for the chance to return the favor.

How to Use Facebook Groups to Grow Your Blog

May 14, 2014 By Shannah Coe 6 Comments

Facebook is one of those blog musts but it is also what has given me the most gray hairs…well, at least blogging related gray hairs. They are constantly changing and tweaking things which usually  means less and less people actually see your content.  Let’s take a look at how to use Facebook groups to grow your blog.  They have personally helped me a lot so I am hoping you can learn from these tips too.
