Grilled Cheeseburger Pizza

July 20, 2015 By Shannah Coe 3 Comments

This post is sponsored by VELVEETA® . All opinions are my own.

A Grilled Cheeseburger Pizza is a delicious alternative to summer burgers! Who wouldn’t want to eat a pizza that tastes just like a cheeseburger?! Adding Velveeta cheese makes this burger pizza perfectly cheesy and delicious! Toss it on the grill and enjoy a delicious summer meal that is perfect for a BBQ!

Have you ever had grilled pizza? If you haven’t, I can tell you that, once you do, you will want all of your pizza grilled from that day forward. It is so delicious. With summer here, BBQs are full of hamburgers and hot dogs.

Even though we try to break out of the standard hamburger mold with recipes like chicken apple or southwestern turkey burgers, burgers can get a little monotonous at times. Instead of grilling up another hamburger the other night, I instead decided to make grilled cheeseburger pizza.

Grilled cheeseburger pizza is the perfect burger replacement that still gives you all the flavors of a summer bbq!

Mathlete thinks it is funny that I said I was “tired of burgers” but still made our grilled pizza with all the flavors of a burger. I love cheeseburgers so it made total sense to me! I used pizza dough that I rolled out and then grilled. You can easily replace that with a premade crust to make this recipe even easier!

Grilled Cheeseburger Pizza Ingredients:

1 pizza crust
3/4 lb ground beef
2/3 cup ketchup
3 oz VELVEETA® loaf, cut into pieces
1 tomato, chopped
1/2 cup shredded lettuce

Let’s Make It:

1) Heat pan over medium heat and brown ground beef, stirring to crumble.

2) Preheat grill to medium heat. Lightly oil grates or, if available, grill safe pizza pan.

3) On a floured surface, roll out pizza dough. {I typically cut my dough in half and roll it into two separate crusts.} Spread ketchup onto crust. Top with VELVEETA® and then ground beef. Place on grill or in pizza pan and cook on grill for 10-15 minutes or until crust is browned. {If you use a premade crust, you only need to grill for about 5-7 minutes.}

4) Remove pizza from grill and top with chopped tomato and shredded lettuce before serving.

This pizza serves 4-6 people.

Just like with a cheeseburger, you can totally customize this pizza. Add pickles or onions…Mathlete likes to combine mustard and ketchup together and brush it on which tastes great. Just make sure you keep the VELVEETA® because it is perfect on this pizza because it melts so perfectly to make a pizza that is beyond cheesy.

What toppings do you put on your cheeseburger? What are your favorite pizza toppings?

VELVEETA® lovers know it as Liquid Gold, and it has been a favorite of families since 1928. Known for its smooth, creamy texture and perfect melt, you can use VELVEETA® in a variety of recipes – and strike Liquid Gold.

There is a place called Buffalo Brother’s and they make the most amazing cheeseburger pizza. I’m going to have to pin this so I can make it at home. Yum!
