This recipe for roasted garlic stuffed mushrooms is a simple and irresistible appetizer made with a scrumptious filling of roasted garlic, a blend of cheeses, and fresh parsley.
Every hostess needs a few simple but delicious appetizer recipes in your cookbook. These roasted garlic stuffed mushrooms are perfect for any occasion; from a dinner party to book club to a backyard feast with friends. You only need a few ingredients and a little bit of time to create the perfect finger food for any event you can dream of.

I am sure you probably paused for a moment when I mentioned the words roasted garlic and entertaining in the same breath. I know…garlic has a strong smell. But the roasted garlic is the absolute key to the depth of flavor in these stuffed mushrooms. Just be sure to grab some room spray to neutralize the strong garlic smell.

Roasted Garlic Stuffed Mushroom Ingredients
- Fresh Garlic – A whole head of garlic works best for this recipe.
- Olive Oil
- Sea Salt
- Mushroom Caps – Look for larger sizes on with flatter bottoms.
- Mayonnaise
- Sharp Cheddar and Parmesan Cheeses
- Parsley
I usually use Febreze ONE after preparing my mushrooms (you can make them in advance and then just bake when ready!) and then again right before guests arrive.

How to Make Garlic Stuffed Mushrooms

- Roast the garlic. Drizzle the garlic with olive oil and season with salt. Wrap in foil and roast.
- Make the filling. Combine the roasted garlic, cheeses, and parsley together. You can add in 1-2 tablespoons of panko crumbs for some added texture if you’d like but it is definitely optional.
- Stuff the mushrooms. Add the filling to the mushroom caps.
- Bake. Cook them stuffed mushrooms in the oven. Sprinkle with extra parsley before serving.

Stuffed mushrooms are an absolute must serve appetizer at almost event I host. I know they will always be a hit and they are so easy to make. Plus, I can make the filling in advance and just stuff the mushroom right before baking.


Roasted Garlic Stuffed Mushrooms
Ingredients
Roasted Garlic
- 1 head of garlic
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Mushrooms
- 8 large mushroom caps
- 4 Tablespoons mayonnaise
- 3 Tablespoons shredded white cheddar
- 3 Tablespoons shredded Parmesan
- 2 Tablespoons chopped parsley
Instructions
Roasted Garlic
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cut top of garlic head off. Place garlic on piece of aluminum foil. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt. Wrap foil tightly around garlic and place into oven. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until softened. Squeeze roasted cloves out of head of garlic.1 head of garlic, 2 Tablespoons olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Stuffed Mushrooms
- In a medium bowl, combine roasted garlic cloves, mayonnaise, white cheddar, Parmesan and parsley. Stir to mix well. Season with salt and pepper.4 Tablespoons mayonnaise, 3 Tablespoons shredded white cheddar, 3 Tablespoons shredded Parmesan, 2 Tablespoons chopped parsley
- Carefully remove stems from mushroom caps. Spoon cheese mixture into each cap. Place on baking sheet.8 large mushroom caps
- Increase oven heat to 375 degrees. Bake mushrooms for 15-20 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- These can be stuffed in advance and refrigerated until ready to bake.
- You can mix in 2 tablespoons of panko crumbs into the filling for added texture. It does not change any of the other ingredient measurements or cooking time.
