Beachy Seashell Wreath

July 3, 2014 By Shannah Coe 6 Comments

Summer months are here and I am totally dreaming of the beach.  Well, at least of the relaxation that going to the beach bring. I can skip the sand and jellyfish. We don’t go on our beach vacation until next month so I decided to bring the beach to me with beachy seashell wreath.

Bring the beach home with a few craft store supplies and a beachy seashell wreath.

This wreath was one of those crafts that came to me as I was visiting the craft store to get supplies for a totally different project! All you need is a wreath form, some mesh, rope and seashells. If you don’t have any seashells hanging around from prior beach trips, the craft store sells them!

Start by attaching the rope to the wreath and then wrap it around. I used a combination of floral wire and lots of hot glue to get my rope solidly attached.

Once you have the rope loosely wrapped around the wreath. Attach your mesh at the bottom. I used a combination of two blues and white. Then, I just attached it with hot glue {shocker} and brown pipe cleaners because that is what I had. You can totally move the mesh so that the pipe cleaners aren’t visible so any color works fine.

The final step is to attach the shells around the wreath. I just used more hot glue for this and randomly placed them. The finished product is a wreath that is the perfect reminder of the beach {if you’ve already been} or a reminder of what’s to come for us since we haven’t hit the surf yet this year.

This wreath looks so simple to make but really celebrates summer!

I’m sharing my wreath today as part of Nap-time Creations Summer Series! Check out some other super fun summer projects from today’s series co-hosts.
