This chocolate dipped strawberry martini is the perfect Valentine’s Day cocktail! Grab your shaker and let’s whip up a creamy, chocolatey martini.
This chocolate strawberry martini tastes just like delicious chocolate covered strawberries but in cocktail form. With just a few ingredients, you can shake up a delicious cocktail perfect for a sweet drink or even dessert.
This recipe comes from Christin, the gal behind the blog Blue Crab Martini where she dishes up (mostly) healthy food, shake up creative cocktails, and give a glimpse into what life on the Chesapeake Bay is all about. Today she is sharing this Chocolate Covered Strawberry cocktail recipe with you as her first contributor post here!
Why You’ll Love This Recipe:
- Tasty! This martini tastes just like a chocolate covered strawberry.
- Easy! You only need a few ingredients and a cocktail shaker to make this chocolate covered strawberry martini with Bailey’s.
- Versatile! You can change the vodka to vanilla or strawberry vodka. You can also use raspberries instead of strawberries. Lots of options.
Making this martini couldn’t be easier. All you need are a few fresh strawberries, Godiva liqueur, Bailey’s, vodka, and a little chocolate syrup. I chose to rim my glass with melted chocolate to add an extra special touch, although this is totally optional (but why on earth would you forgo more chocolate… splurge a little, it’s Valentine’s Day)!
Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Martini Ingredients:
- Fresh Strawberries – Fresh strawberries are the key to making this easy chocolate covered strawberry martini. Grab a few extra for garnishing the drinks too.
- Vodka – Since this is an alcohol forward drink, go with a high quality vodka. You can substitute vanilla or strawberry if you’d like something on the sweeter side.
- Godiva Liqueur – This chocolate liqueur is perfect for adding the right amount of chocolate flavor to this martini.
- Bailey’s Liqueur – I would recommend the chocolate (you can never have too much chocolate) or the espresso creme options.
- Chocolate Syrup – Use the store bought kind or you can make your own!
Are you going out for Valentine’s Day this year?
If you’re like me, the answer is a definitive NO! Why? Because after spending the day chasing my two kids, attending sports practices, mopping the floors, cooking dinner, and trying to hold on to that last little ounce of sanity, there is absolutely no part of me that feels like getting dolled up and going out. No sparkly dress and 4” heels for me this year! Instead we’re planning a nice quiet evening at home complete with a perfect chocolate dipped strawberry cocktail.
I’ll be doing my very best to recreate that special night at home this year. I’m putting together a delicious dinner of broiled lobster tails and oven roasted rosemary potatoes. Who knows, I might even get all fancy-pants and light a candle or two! After the kiddos are off to bed, we’ll settle down on the couch (with those fuzzy slippers, of course), and sip on one of these Chocolate Covered Strawberry Martinis.
Each sip of this chocolate dipped strawberry martini is packed with a sweet splash of rich chocolate and fresh strawberries. It’s like an adults-only version of a chocolate covered strawberry! Although it’s a dessert-style cocktail, it’s not overly sweet. And because it’s made with Godiva, it’s got Valentine’s Day written all over it!
