Ingredients

  • 2 cups Gluten Free Neutral Oil (Vegetable or Avocado Oil) check the label
  • 12 10" Gluten Free Corn Tortillas
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp Salt or other seasoning optional

Instructions

Stovetop Fry Method

  • Stack the tortillas and cut into 8ths.
  • Pour 2-3 inches of oil into deep pan. Heat over medium high heat. (You will know it is hot enough if a sample tortilla floats).
  • Add about 10 tortilla triangles to hot oil. Cook for 45 seconds. Stir and cook an additional 45 seconds or until golden brown. Using a skimmer, remove from pan and transfer to paper towel lined pan. Add seasoning while chips are hot. Repeat until all pieces are cooked.

Air Fryer Method (uses significantly less oil)

  • Preheat air fryer to 360 degrees.
  • Lightly brush both sides of the tortillas with oil. Cut tortillas into 8th.
  • Lay cut tortillas in a single layer in air fryer basket (you may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer). Season with salt or other seasoning.
  • Air fry at 360 degrees for 6 minutes, turning the chips over halfway through. Remove from air fryer and transfer to paper towel lined plate.

Oven Baked Method (uses significantly less oil)

  • Preheat oven to 420 degrees. Line large, rimmed baking sheets with nonstick foil or parchment paper.
  • Lightly brush both sides of the tortillas with oil. Cut tortillas into 8th.
  • Place cut tortillas on baking sheets in a single layer. Season with salt or other seasoning.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and allow chips to cool slightly. They will crisp more as they cool.

Notes

  • Cooked tortillas can be stored in an airtight container for up to one week.
