In a bowl, combine coconut aminos, applesauce, honey, tomato paste and sesame oil together. Whisk to combine.
In a small bowl, mix together garlic powder, ginger, Chinese five spice and crush red pepper. Rub onto pork.
Place dates in the bottom of the crockpot and put pork on top. Cover with liquid. Cook on low for 8 hours. Add broth and cook for an additional 30 minutes. Remove pork from the slow cooker and shred with two forks.
