Tater Tot Casserole

Combine tater tots with cheese and ground beef for a delicious, kid-friendly dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 32 oz package tater tots.
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced
  • 10 oz condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 3/4 cup water
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup French's fried onions

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spray 9x13 cooking dish lightly with cooking spray. Line the bottom of the dish with tator tots and cook for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees.
  2. 2. Heat 1 tsp oil over medium heat. Brown the ground beef over medium heat and drain. Set aside.
  3. 3. Heat 1 tsp oil in pan and saute onion and garlic for about 5 minutes. Add ground beef and stir to combine. Layer on top of tater tots.
  4. 4. Mix condensed cream of mushroom soup and water. Stir well. Stir in 1 cup of cheddar cheese and ½ cup of friend onions. Pour mixture over the tator tots and spread evenly. Top with remaining cheddar cheese and fried onions.
  5. 5. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20-30 minutes until bubbly and the cheese has melted.
