How to Use Affiliate Marketing

May 15, 2014 By Shannah Coe 8 Comments

Today’s first post is all about how to use affiliate marketing on your blog.  I took a class on affiliate marketing while at Snap! Conference and I feel like I learned so much that I need to put into practice.  Of course, I didn’t write this post since I haven’t really been all that great with my affiliate marketing techniques.  Thankfully, I was able to reach out to someone who was far more knowledgeable than I am!

May 14, 2014 By Shannah Coe 2 Comments

Are you ready for some major Pinterest education?  Pinterest drives a ton of traffic so being a successful user can also make you be a successful blogger.  Kathy is here to share how she grew her Pinterest following and how to use Pinterest to grow your blog.

Hi there! So glad to be a part of Just us Four’s “How to Blog” series. Thanks for having me. 😉 Everything I have learned about blogging is from other bloggers, searching the web, and personal experience. I am grateful for the chance to return the favor.

95% of my traffic comes from Pinterest. Wow. Once I figured that out, I did some quick research, implemented changes, and went from 40 followers (back in January) to 1,000+ followers in just a few weeks.

How to Use Facebook Groups to Grow Your Blog

May 14, 2014 By Shannah Coe 6 Comments

Facebook is one of those blog musts but it is also what has given me the most gray hairs…well, at least blogging related gray hairs. They are constantly changing and tweaking things which usually  means less and less people actually see your content.  Let’s take a look at how to use Facebook groups to grow your blog.  They have personally helped me a lot so I am hoping you can learn from these tips too.

How to Create a Newsletter

May 13, 2014 By Shannah Coe 5 Comments

So the next lesson in our series is something I seriously need to get started on so I will be reading along with everyone as Katie shares how to create a newsletter. I remember talking with Katie when she was first setting up her newsletter so I was super excited when she agreed to share with you all all that she learned in the process.

She shares a great tutorial on how to create a newsletter using Mail Chimp. #howtoblog

Hi everyone!  I’m Katie and I blog over Made to be a Momma where you will find diy crafts, sewing tutorials, recipes, stories on motherhood and a few blogging tips!  I am a wife and momma to two little boys.  I am so excited to be here at Just Us Four!  Shannah is a good friend of mine.  We have talked numerous times throughout the past year and I had the great pleasure of actually getting to meet her in person  last month at the yearly SNAP! conference!

I was a little hesitant to take over this part of Shannah how to series because I am certainly not a pro at techy behind the scene blog stuff.  Give me some fabric and tell me to make something and I’ve got your back.  Tell me to adjust my sidebar width and dip into html coding and I get a little nervous. 🙂  I figured some of you are like that too, so when I say that “if I can do this you can  too” have confidence in yourself that you really can 🙂

There are many ways to set up and send newsletters.  There are some plugins and then there are some websites.  If you are on  a self-hosted WordPress site there is actually a new plugin called MailPoet that I think I might play around with and try out: however, for now this newsletter tutorial will show you all the steps to get you up and running with Mail Chimp which is extremely popular and super easy to understand! Let’s start!

How to Create a Watermark in Picmonkey

May 13, 2014 By Shannah Coe 9 Comments

Now that you have learned basics of how to start a blog, it is time to learn all the other things that come with your blog.  This post for the “How To” series comes from a good blogging friend of mine.  I am always blowing up her Facebook messenger with questions or general talk about blogging {and life}.  She is also one of my go to people for graphics and advice on how to tweak my photos.  We are headed to BlogHer Food today this year and I am psyched.  Meet Allyson…

Hey y’all! I am Allyson from Domestic Superhero and I am super thrilled to be blogging for Shannah today! I’ve known Shannah for a while in the ‘blogging world’ and have always followed her blog.  I always look to her for advice and help when I need it, so I am flattered she asked me to create a how-to post for her readers.  Over at my blog, Domestic Superhero, I mainly blog about food, but I also throw in the occasional DIY, product review, or craft.  During the last 2.5 years I have been blogging, I have invested a lot of time into learning how to take great photos, and I am excited to share how to protect those photos with a watermark. The last thing anyone needs is some random person stealing her photos for their own gain! Not cool!
