Amazing Reuben Dip

March 3, 2014 By Shannah Coe 9 Comments

A Reuben is one of those sandwiches that has a devoted following.  You either love it or hate it.  Mathlete is in the love category. If it is on the menu, Mathlete will order it without question.  Me…I am in the other camp.  I don’t care for it so we never make it at home.  I would much rather have a balsamic chicken or kalbi beef sandwich instead!
But, with St. Patrick’s Day approaching, I decided to make some reuben dip for Mathlete to get him all the flavors of the Reuben sandwich without actually making a sandwich 🙂Amazing Reuben Dip Recipe #appetizer #stpatricksday #beef

Jalapeno Popper Dip

February 19, 2014 By Shannah Coe 4 Comments

Jalapeno poppers are one of those appetizers that you know EVERYONE will love.  It is the perfect combination of spicy and cheesy in a little handheld bite.  I see them at so many parties and actually served them for the first time this year at our annual Christmas party.  Then, I started thinking about a way to easily take all those flavors on the go for tailgating or potluck parties {March madness, anyone?}. Turning the traditional appetizer into Jalapeno Popper Dip that you make ahead and bake whenever you want OR throw in the crockpot was what I came up with! This Jalapeno Popper Dip looks so easy and delicious. Love her idea of making it in the crockpot. #Superbowl #recipes #dips

If you are from Ohio or went to Ohio State, you probably have a love for buckeyes (the nut, candy and mascot!) that no one will ever top!  To the rest of us, buckeyes are merely chocolate peanut butter candies that are super delicious but fairly labor intensive to actually make!

Key Lime Pie Dip Recipe

September 18, 2013 By Shannah Coe 1 Comment

Fall is almost here.  Like seriously…three days from now will be the official start of fall.  Of course, if you are an avid blog reader like me, fall started back in early August.  Today, as the last days of actual summer wane though, I invite you take one last trip with me to summer and enjoy this key lime pie dip recipe.

Key Lime Pie Dip with Label

This dip came about as I was searching for things to serve at Mathlete’s birthday BBQ.  He is a September baby and loves anything key lime.  Not wanting to put in the effort for a key lime pie {sorry babe, I love you but pies just aren’t my thing}, I decided to create a dip that included all the favorite flavors of the beloved Key Lime pie.

Bacon Caramelized Onion Dip with Philidelphia Cream Cheese

August 15, 2013 By Shannah Coe 36 Comments

Remember how just yesterday it was July?  Yeah…me too!  I feel like August is absolutely flying by!  Of course, having two birthdays back to back in our house doesn’t make time slow down at all.  Double birthdays means the beginning of my August is always filled with invitations, R.S.V.P.s, party decorations and of course…food.  You can’t have a party without delicious food!  Even though the parties are for the kids, adults get the kids there/stay for the party and so should be rewarded with a bit of grown up food too!  That’s where caramelized onion dip with bacon comes in…a combination of Philadelphia cream cheese, caramelized onions and bacon makes it the ultimate parent reward for enduring a 2+ hour birthday party.

Liquid Gold Cheesy Party Potatoes

July 22, 2013 By Shannah Coe 20 Comments

We have a new person that recently joined our household {don’t worry, you’ll get to know more about her later} and she is a vegetarian.  You can totally tell from the recipes I share here that Mathlete and I pretty big meat eaters so I am excited for the challenge that cooking for a vegetarian will bring.  One of the first things I decided to make for her was something that I knew the whole family would enjoy: cheesy party potatoes made with delicious Velveeta cheese. Yummy Salsa Verde Recipe

May 15, 2013 By Shannah 13 Comments

The love for Tex-Mex and Mexican food in our house is pretty obvious!  You can see it week after week in my What to Cook Wednesday weekly menus.  Plus, we’re regulars at our local Mexican restaurant and you’ll always find salsa in the house.
Typically, I focus on more traditional salsa and guacamole {although, I have been known to make the guacamole with bacon!}, but I decided I wanted to try my hand at a salsa verde recipe for something a little different.

Cheesy Crab Artichoke Dip

February 27, 2013 By Shannah 10 Comments

One of my favorite restaurant “treats” is crab artichoke dip.  I love how cheesy and delicious it is.  With two kids at our dinner table, we rarely get to the appetizer portion of a meal though and tend to go straight for the main deal.  So, I decided to make some at home to curb my recent craving.
